On September 17, I was invited to speak to the Seattle Children’s Hospital’s Patient Advisory Board about my national outreach campaign!
It was an amazing experience, and I got to hear the stories of so many incredibly strong patient families. I was also able to share about CanSER, our national outreach campaign, and my motivations behind starting this initiative.
Specifically, when sharing about the 2 main fallbacks in current support systems, it was amazing to see how quickly the board members agreed with and noticed the same issues in their own experiences, and how quickly they were willing to get on board with the campaign! I also loved hearing their insights into what could be added to the program to make it even more accessible to patients.
Speaking with the Advisory board was an amazing milestone in this national campaign, and I look forward to spreading my message and getting more feedback from patients in the future!
Also, a special thank you to Amy Wilcox and Brei Haywood for connecting me with the board and getting me this amazing opportunity, your support and guidance mean so much to me! Thank you!!
