On March 21, I had the honor of speaking on the Looms4Lupus podcast! Looms4Lupus is a non-profit organization that provides lupus, fibromyalgia and mental health awareness, advocacy, and support to those living with these conditions, their loved ones, and caregivers. It was founded by three sisters— Estela, Juana, and Araceli Mata. “The Mata Sisters” actively work with local, national and global organizations and are active participants of the Congresswoman Grace Napolitano’s Mental Health Consortium.
I got to speak on their podcast about CanSER’s National Outreach Campaign and discuss the importance of emotional support when diagnosed with a chronic illness. We also discussed collaboration in the advocacy space, and how the biggest changes are those we create together.
Thank you so much Estela and Juana for meeting with me, and I can’t wait to see the amazing work we do together in the future!
