On April 3rd, I got to meet with WA State Sen. Vandana Slatter’s team! Sen. Slatter, the creator of the Washington Health Corps, is a dedicated healthcare advocate in WA state. She is a licensed pharmacist in Washington state, and for over 20 years, she was a clinical scientist at multiple leading biotech companies. As a Senator, she is a member of the Health & Long-Term Care committee.
I sat down with Robert Joniken, her session aide, to discuss the current state of cancer support in WA state, and what can be done about it! We discussed the importance of emotional support when dealing with a chronic condition, and especially the importance of making these emotional support services as accessible and trustworthy as possible.
